PRINTING

It is in the printing sector that packaging receives the essential element to attract consumers’ attention: the color. A process involving several stages, all carried out with the utmost commitment and care, thereby adding value to the packaged products. This work begins with the customer defining the colors and is completed at Cristal. From technical and laboratory analyses to pre-printing and plate making, everything is evaluated to ensure that the print comes out at the highest possible level of quality. The printing process is flexographic, which stands out for the use of highly drying inks, with the use of clichés, making printing more flexible on a wide variety of films. The printing machines have a printing capacity of up to 10 colors, with high performance and technical precision. The combination of all these factors has enabled Cristal to win several awards for best flexographic printing in Brazil, becoming known and recognized in the domestic and international markets for the quality of its printing.

Lamination

This process consists of combining two or more films using a solvent-free adhesive. This combination of films takes into account the structure, product, and objective to be achieved, allowing us to work with a wide variety of structures such as polyethylene, polyester, metallized, among others. Another advantage of laminated packaging is that it provides a greater barrier against the outside, thus offering greater protection to the product being packaged.

REWINDER

This is the process by which the packaging, intended for an automatic packing system, receives its final finishing. It is an extremely important stage, since through it the packaging’s performance will be assessed in terms of packing speed (packs per minute), as well as the potential losses it may cause in the client’s process. Our equipment includes features to work with different winding and unwinding tensions, and is also equipped with laser guides. This ensures superior dimensional and tension control in the finishing of the reels.

CUTTING AND SEALING

In the Cutting and Sealing Department, a wide variety of packaging models are designed and produced, ranging from the simplest to the most sophisticated. In this department, valves can be applied to expel air from the package when the product is stacked, increasing shelf life and protecting against pests. We also produce stand-up pouches, four-side seal packages, and bottom-gusseted bags that give the packaging a squared, box-like appearance. A range of modern, sophisticated machines ensure solutions for the most diverse markets and applications.

PRE-PRINTING

Cristal Embalagens has its own graphics department, responsible for the entire process of preparing files for production, such as image processing, color separation, finalization, file closure, and digital proofing.

The Pre-printing department has competent professionals with extensive knowledge in the field and always seeks to improve production techniques to get the best out of each process.

State-of-the-art software and hardware technology allows us to control the entire workflow electronically, from receiving the client’s file to the final stage of sending the closed file to the printing company and recording the cliché. The strict control throughout the pre-printing process allows problems to be detected before the film printing process, thus avoiding production losses, high costs, and rework.

Another unique feature of the sector is the reading of printing profiles, which allows for more efficient and controlled results, enabling the creation of digital proofs that simulate printing and can be sent to customers to use as a basis for comparing the results that will be obtained on the machine with a high level of precision.

Plate Making

One of the great benefits of having our own Plate Making department is the reduced lead time in serving production and, consequently, our clients. Another important advantage is that we achieve outstanding quality in printing molds and high-relief flexible plates (clichés). Our Plate Making department – in its engraving system – also features HD Flexo, which provides consistent, high-definition engraving. This enables superior quality in halftones and better coverage in solid areas. By combining advanced technologies with professional expertise, we guarantee printing excellence.
