For Cristal Embalagens, quality must be something natural and spontaneous, which everyone must adopt in order to satisfy the customer, comply with legal parameters, and respect the environment and its employees. Quality at Cristal is not a one-off event; continuous improvement must be applied to all processes at all times, with work carried out to a high standard by a motivated and committed team. This is what drives us to always strive for the best.
ENVIRONMENTAL PILLAR
The growing market demand for organizations to adopt a sustainable management model has led companies to seek improvements in their processes in order to comply with applicable legislation and reduce or even eliminate the environmental impacts of their activities. In this case, it is nothing more than achieving continuous economic growth through the rational management of natural resources and the use of cheaper and less polluting technologies. In the same vein, Cristal Embalagens has an environmentally conscious approach, which drives the company's environmental initiatives, seeking to minimize or prevent damage at the source of its activities, so that the environment and we ourselves do not suffer the consequences of poorly executed activities. Cristal Embalagens, in practicing the law of “Reverse Logistics,” does not consider it an imposition, but rather an awareness that all waste can be converted into raw material, thereby reducing the waste generated, increasing the useful life of landfills, decreasing the extraction of natural resources, and preventing water, air, and soil pollution.
SECURITY PILLAR
Since the dawn of humanity, living beings have carried out subsistence activities while exposed to the risk of accidents. Both the health and safety of our employees are essential to Cristal Embalagem’s good performance. To ensure that these fundamentals are guaranteed, Cristal has a participatory quality management system in place to provide these rights. The management of these resources is guaranteed by regulatory standards (NR) provided by the Ministry of Labor for the standardization of safety systems, administered by specialists, which in this case is at the discretion of the company's safety department, where all the tools necessary for quality management of employee health and safety are controlled.
FOOD PILLAR
Recent changes in society’s eating habits have led to an increase in the consumption of processed foods. To ensure packaging safety, Cristal applies Good Manufacturing Practices and the HACCP method in accordance with Codex Alimentarius for all packaging produced and equipment that comes into direct contact with food. According to Codex Alimentarius, industries must provide food that is safe and suitable for consumption, i.e., ensure that it is not a source of contamination that could cause harm to consumers when prepared and consumed in accordance with its intended use (Codex Alimentarius Commission 2009). In this context, Cristal is committed to providing packaging that does not pose a risk to the health of those who consume the food it contains, by following the customer’s technical specifications to ensure adequate protection for food, preventing damage and minimizing contamination (chemical, physical, and microbiological).
